This Chevrolet stake body truck, #14DRJ16, is a one-of-a-kind novelty truck that has been beautifully restored with no expense spared. This truck is wired for band equipment use. 6 years ago the paint was beautifully restored using a 2 two-stage base coat clear coat PPG paint system, and the vibrant fire engine red exterior is show quality with a bright high gloss finish. Custom oak bed with aluminum diamond plate floor and 1” custom oak removable stake sides are a unique feature. The oak has a fabulous high gloss urethane finish. The tailgate is attached with diamond plate chrome hardware. Complete with the original style chrome bumper with diamond plate step plate, this unique truck has only been used in parades. It has a complete canopy extending up above the stake body bed so the band members could play music in the shade. The truck is wired with an accessory inverter to provide power for instruments or any other power needs. The truck has an updated 235 Blue Flame 6 cylinder engine that runs extremely well. 4 speed gear box, HD rear end with HD leaf springs. The coachwork has also been restored in gray vinyl, new windlace, complete new glass, new window rubbers, dual side-view mirrors, heater, crank-out windshield and push-out cowl vent for fresh air ventilation. AM/FM cassette player with 6” Pioneer speakers mounted in the door panels. The dashboard and interior of the cab have been beautifully restored in the high gloss light gray single stage enamel paint. New gray headliner, period turn signals (not available in 1946). Original steering wheel, working “Aruuga” horn. Instrument cluster, door hardware, and instrument knobs are completely original. Everything works. New black rubber floor mat with sound-deadening pad underneath. The canopy has all stainless rails that stand in a gambrel shape with a 6” overhang over the sides, standing about 6½” tall. Tires are the original style Firestone 7.10-15” wide white bias ply tires with Chevrolet chrome hub caps. Notice the HD 1” ton rear axle; they had to cut out the center of the hubcap to make it fit. The truck is also equipped with a custom bench for a keyboard player to sit on and speakers to plug into. Hinged chrome hardware for extra seats, no outlet. Holding tank in custom stainless for beverages.
