This award winning 1955 Lincoln Capri is a well-restored original car with 38,857 miles that has been featured at multiple Lincoln club meets and was used for the cover on the March/April 2008 Lincoln Continental Owners’ Club (LCOC) publication.
Restored to a high standard in the late 1990s, this Lincoln has been kept in excellent mechanical condition by a serious Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), LCOC and Lincoln Zephyr Owners Club (LZOC) member. According to the consignor, who drove it on many AACA tours, this Lincoln is an absolute joy to drive. A picture of the private, single-bay garage used solely for this Lincoln is included, and that garage is complete with a lift for the vehicle’s complete maintenance and care over the years.
Loaded with options, this Capri includes a Continental Kit, dual rearview mirrors and spotlights, front driving and fog lights, power seats, power windows, power brakes and power steering. In 2012, a total rewiring of the vehicle, including power window and seat motors, was performed. A complete list of all 24 specific electrical, vacuum, heater and cooling, and gasket maintenance and replacement is included, is the wiring diagram. All work performed was to a high degree with the purpose of keeping this car in proper condition and ready for regular AACA touring. The tires are Diamond Back radial tires.
On the exterior, the Palomino Buff and chrome, re-plated at the time of restoration, are considered by the consignor to be in excellent condition. The matching upholstery and carpets on the interior create a comfortable space for driver and passengers.
Awards won include First in Class at the 2007 LCOC Eastern National Meet in Cherry Hill, Penn., First in Class at the 2011 LCOC Eastern National Meet in Laconia, NH, and First in Class at the 2008 New Hampshire Lincoln Zephyr Owners’ Club meet.
