This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a well-documented ONE OWNER convertible with only 50,000 ORIGINAL miles!! Per the original bill of sale and purchase order (included with the documentation package), this car was purchased new in May 1968 by a woman who traded in her slightly-used-at-the-time 1966 Impala convertible for this specially chosen 327 ci 4-speed posi Corvette convertible. Original documentation also includes the original Protect-o-Plate, original owner’s manual, her original canceled deposit check to the dealership, original registration and title forms, original 1968 sales tax form and even an authorized letter from General Motors dated from 1969 that indicated a recall on the 4-barrell QuadraJet carburetor. Along with all this phenomenal history goes the car itself, which has only been driven a mere 50,800 miles since 1968! It’s still powered by the original matching-numbers drivetrain, including the 327/300 hp V8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission and posi-trac rear axle. Other factory options include the RARE black vinyl removable hardtop (only 3,050 produced), power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, original SMOG unit and Chevrolet AM/FM stereo radio. In the past 50+ years, the car has had some minor body repairs and a repaint in the original color of Cordovan Maroon (only 1,155 produced), which was the second rarest color behind Tuxedo Black (708 produced). The exterior chrome and stainless remain original to the car and in nice overall condition, showing some fading. The interior is mostly original, though driver’s seat does have a split in the bottom seam and new carpet was recently installed. The original white convertible top is still intact as well but needs to be replaced; the rear window has been removed at some point due to yellowing. All-in-all, this is a running and driving, very well documented, numbers matching, nicely optioned Corvette convertible that can be used the way it is or given some minor TLC to take it to the next level.
