An Interactive Tour of Human Innovation at OHTM! (Pre-registration required)
Owls Head Transportation Museum (OHTM) is thrilled to announce an exciting 3-week education series - More Than a Better Mousetrap: An Interactive Tour of Human Innovation. Offered in 2-hour classes, this new course will be held for three consecutive Tuesdays next month at the Museum.
Driving the heart of this program is OHTM’s world-class collection. Serving as both classroom and catalyst, each exhibit’s history will be woven into a story that analyzes how technology and science have influenced the structure of our society. This course will guide students through an intentional journey of the achievements and accidents that have profoundly altered our communities and culture.
More than just a workshop, this course engages participants through their own unique learning styles with an open-minded approach and interactive discussion topics, ranging from theoretical to concrete. Each weekly installment spotlights a different captivating development stage: Week 1: Foundation; Week 2: Speed; and Week 3: Flight and Future.
Steering this dynamic course is George Terrien, Rockland resident and long-time museum docent. As a practicing architect, George has worked on numerous projects both nationally and internationally, and is a staunch advocate for continuing education.
Space is extremely limited, so registering early is highly recommended. The course dates are October 3, 10 and 17 and classes are held 10-12pm. Open to anyone with an intrinsic sense of curiosity, the cost is only $20 for OHTM Members and $30 for non-members, which includes all materials. To register, contact Niki Janczura at firstname.lastname@example.org or (207) 594-4418.
