Temporary Closure

Last Updated: Wednesday, May 13, 2020

In accordance with the State of Maine’s reopening plan and public health guidelines, the Owls Head Transportation Museum has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming events through August 31, 2020, to help prevent the continued spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

These cancelations include the following events: OHTM Auto Tour, May 30; Spring Fling, June 6-7; Visiting Vacationland, June 20-21; All-American Show, July 11-12; Truck & Tractor, July 18-19; Wings & Wheels Spectacular, August 1-2; and the New England Auto Auction™, August 14-15.

Our first priority continues to be the health and safety of visitors, volunteers, and staff. As new information emerges, the museum’s team will continue to assess the situation and implement additional protocols in anticipation of the day when we can safely reopen our doors to visitors.

Since our temporary closure began on March 16, the expenses of maintaining the museum’s facilities and collections have continued. Now more than ever, we must rely on the charitable support of our friends, members, and donors. Membership renewals, gift memberships, biplane ride certificates, and donations are the best ways to protect the museum and its mission in these uncertain times. To support OHTM today, visit owlshead.org/support.

During this temporary closure, our staff will continue to offer dynamic digital content to help keep our community of passionate historians, gear heads, collectors, and enthusiasts strong. For more information and updates about future events, stay connected with us through the museum’s website and on our social media pages – Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

On behalf of the museum’s trustees and staff, we are incredibly grateful for everyone’s generous support and continued trust as we move forward together.
