In alignment with the current statewide call for the closure of non-essential businesses and public gatherings, the Owls Head Transportation Museum will remain closed to the public and for volunteer activities until further notice to help reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The museum will reopen once a determination has been made that doing so will pose no potential harm to public health. While the decision to suspend services has created new challenges, our primary goal must be the protection of our visitors, volunteers and staff.
Upon reopening, all memberships and sponsorships that were active as of March 16 will be extended by the full term of our public closure. During this closure, we encourage guests to explore the digital resources available on our website, as well as new stories and videos offered daily on the museum’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
We are overwhelmed by everyone’s flexibility and patience as we navigate this unprecedented situation together. Updates will be provided on as they become available.
