OHTM extends a personal invitation to the aviation community and the general public to attend this special FLY-IN Event! Start Time: 9 AM for Registered Pilots • 10 AM for General Public Reminiscent of OHTM's early days, pilots from around the state will be flying in for this revitalized event! Stroll the flight line, get up close to the museum's vintage one-of-a-kind aviation collection and check out a variety of visiting aircraft. Bring the whole family for a sky-high adventure at the Owls Head Transportation Museum! Tour our brand-new aviation hangar, enjoy burgers and hot dogs and check out the Tiger Moth Restoration, where you can see the careful craftsmanship behind our 1940s de Havilland Tiger Moth restoration project. Perfect for aviation buffs and curious kids alike. Proceeds from this high-flying day will be matched by a generous donor to support OHTM's Tiger Moth Restoration Project. **NOTE: This is a Fly-In, aviation event—not an exhibitor car show. Biplane rides are back! Experience the thrill of open-air flight in a vintage aircraft. Rides are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis with limited availability, so arrive early!
General Public Tickets are available online and at the door. GET TICKETS HERE! Pilots who plan to fly in to this event must register PILOTS REGISTER HERE! ADDITIONAL PILOT INFORMATION
RADIO COMMUNICATION IS REQUIRED. Please communicate with museum radio on 123.05 KRKD UNICOM before entering our flight line
- Parking on museum flight line will start at 9:30 am and close at 11 am. Planes on flight line MUST stay in place until 2:00 pm
- If you plan on arriving or departing while the flight line is closed, please park on airport ramp and call (207)691-2051 for shuttle
- OHTM and Knox County Flying Club will be offering shuttle service from the Knox County Flying Club Breakfast to the museum!
**SILENT AUCTION to benefit the Tiger Moth Restoration 
Don't miss your opportunity to own a little piece of "Tiger Moth" history. 3 Items will be on display in the aviation hangar during the fly-in event. The silent auction bidding starts at $250. Silent auction ends at 3:00 on Saturday, May 31! ITEMS INCLUDE: (2) Roundels from our DH.82A Tiger Moth, removed from the underside of the lower wing as seen in photo when last flown. Glued to plywood and framed, would look great over a bar or in your garage or hangar.
(1) Propeller from DH.82A Tiger Moth as removed after overturn on landing and hitting the ground, July 23, 2011. This may be the only one available in the world and comes on stand. Feel good about bidding. All proceeds from the silent auction will be matched by a generous donor!
