PLAN YOUR VISIT
Do I need to make reservations?
At this time, we do not require reservations. Tickets may be purchased at the Admissions Desk upon arrival.
How much time should I allow for a visit to the museum?
The average duration of a first-time visit is about two hours. We recommend that you review our current exhibits and calendar of events to help plan your upcoming visit.
How do I get to the museum?
Visiting by plane- KRKD (Knox County Regional Airport)
We’re located adjacent to KRKD, and we’re delighted to host visiting pilots and their families.
Arrival Instructions
After landing, taxi to “Bravo” and cross runway 21/03 toward the musuem.
Look for the air boss tower on your right.
Taxi in the grass down to the flagpole, next to the white gazebo.
Heavier aircraft are welcome to park on the tarmac closer to the runway.
Museum Entry
Please use the middle hangar door to enter.
Once inside, check in at the front desk.
If you’re flying in a group or need assistance, feel free to call ahead so we can better accommodate your visit.

The museum does not offer aviation services, but the FBO across the field does:
Down East Air, 207-594-2171 (Overnight parking, fuel, and pilot lounge available).

By Car: OHTM offers ample parking for passenger vehicles and tour buses during regular business hours. We are conveniently located:
- 3 miles from Rockland via ME-73 S
- 46 miles from Augusta via ME-17 E
- 64 miles from Bangor via US-1 S
- 80 miles from Portland via I-295 N and US-1 N
Our family donated an object to the museum. Is it available for viewing?
The best way to find out if a particular object is on public display is to contact Jonah Carter, by email jcarter@ohtm.org or by calling 207-594-4418, ext 143.
Can I take pictures or videos in the museum?
Videos and photography taken for personal use are permitted in the museum; however, tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are strictly prohibited. Love your visit? Share your experience and tag OHTM on Facebook and Instagram!
Can I eat or drink in the museum?
Guests are welcome to consume water from sealable containers. Other beverages and food may be carried through our facilities in sealed containers that are properly closed but may not be consumed unless necessary for medical reasons.
Is smoking allowed on campus?
Smoking any substances is strictly prohibited in all museum facilities and on our exhibitor grounds. To locate designated smoking areas, please inquire at the Admissions Desk upon arrival for your visit.
Do you offer any discounts for groups or nonprofit organizations?
We offer a discounted rate of $12/pp for groups of at least 15 people with advanced reservations. To schedule a group reservation or to inquire about special rates for nonprofit organizations, contact a member of the Admissions Team by email at info@ohtm.org or by calling 207-594-4418.
ON-SITE SERVICES
Can I purchase food and beverages at the museum?
OHTM's Cafe is open at all summer shows.
Is there an area available for guests to eat a picnic lunch?
We are excited to offer ample patio furniture in Millstone Park from May to October.
Can I bring my own stroller into the museum?
Absolutely!
Do you have a lost and found?
Yes, it is located at our Admissions Desk and items turned in are kept for 60 days. To inquire about a lost item, contact a member of the Admissions Team by email at info@ohtm.org or by calling 207-594-4418.
Do you offer a coat check?
No, we do not currently have any capacity to retain people’s personal belongings during their visit.
ACCESSIBILITY
Do you provide wheelchairs for visitors?
Wheelchairs and walkers are available free of charge for guest use on a first come, first served basis. To request any of the museum’s adaptive equipment, please inquire at the Admissions Desk upon arrival for your visit.
Are animals allowed at the museum?
