Historic Scenic Biplane Rides

Purchase a 20-minute scenic biplane ride on event days for an open-air, sky-high experience unlike any other!

  

 

Biplane Rides are available for purchase on event days. (weather permitting)

  • Purchase and scheduling of biplane rides will take place at the Rides Gazebo at the far end of the runway. They are no longer handled at the Exhibitor Table. Golf carts are available upon request for anyone needing assistance to reach the Rides Gazebo and/or return to the Museum.
  • Pricing:
    • Single passenger - $100 for members; $150 for nonmembers: Available for Boeing Stearman or Waco UBF-2 aircraft
    • Two passengers - $200 for members; $250 for nonmembers: Available exclusively for the WACO UBF-2
  • General Policies:
    • For two-passenger rides, one passenger must be age 18 or older. Children may not ride a plane unaccompanied. Children riding in the WACO with an adult must be age 7 or older, and be at least 4’ (48”/122 cm) tall.
    • The combined weight of two WACO passengers must be under 300 lbs.
    • All flights are weather permitting.

How much is a biplane ride?

For the Boeing Stearmans: $100 for OHTM members, $150 for non-members

For the WACO (seats 2): $200 for OHTM members, $250 for non-members

How many people can ride in the biplane at once?

In the Boeing Stearmans, one rider. 

In the WACO, two riders, whose combined weight must be less than 300 lbs.

Is there a minimum age (or an age limit) for riding in a biplane?

One rider must be at least 18 years of age at the time the ride is given. If riding in the WACO, the second rider may be younger than 18, but must be at least 7 years of age and/or 4’ (48”/22 cm) tall to ride. There is no upper age limit.

Where can I purchase a biplane ride?

During events tickets may be purchased and scheduled at the Biplane Rides Gazebo at the far end of the runway.

Do I need to sign a waiver to ride a biplane?

Yes, all riders must complete an aviation waiver before riding in a biplane.

There are two of us riding in a plane. Do we both need to sign an aviation waiver?

Yes, unless the second rider is under 18, in which case a legal guardian must sign on their behalf.

How do I redeem a biplane ride ticket?

When you arrive for your ride, a staff person will ask you to sign an aviation waiver. Before taking your ride, the staff
person will then initial and date the back of your ticket, indicating that it has been redeemed.

May I keep my biplane ride ticket after my flight as a souvenir?

Absolutely!

I am an experienced pilot. May I take the controls?

Unfortunately, no. For reasons of insurance, liability and public safety, no unauthorized personnel will be permitted
to take control of the aircraft-regardless of their flight experience or history with the museum.

My ride was canceled due to weather conditions. What should I do?

You will have to visit the Biplane Rides Gazebo on another event day in order to redeem your ride ticket.

I am unable to take my biplane ride as scheduled. What should I do?
Notify the biplane ride gazebo at your earliest convenience so we may release the time slot to another potential rider. You may redeem your ride at a later event.

I have a biplane ride ticket already. Do I need to pay for admission?
Yes, admittance to the museum requires that the admission fee be paid.
