Owls Head Transportation Museum Camp Safety ProceduresUpdated 1/9/23 The Owls Head Transportation Museum is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our workers and customers. We are taking the following safety precautions for our camps based on Maine CDC recommendations. Symptom Screening• Museum staff are self-screening for symptoms of COVID. • At camp check-in, we will ask COVID symptom screening questions. If a child, or a member of their household, is experiencing symptoms of COVID, including a fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, cough, shortness of breath, or flu like symptoms, they will not be permitted to attend camp. • If a child begins to experience symptoms during the camp day, they will be separated immediately from the other campers and sent home. Respiratory Etiquette and Hand Hygiene• The Museum follows CDC guidelines. If Knox County is rated “High” for Community Level transmission, staff and participants will need to wear masks when inside the museum, regardless of vaccination status or individual risk. • Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom and throughout the Museum. Cleaning • We will ensure that high touch surfaces are sanitized each day after camp. Campers who do not follow our policies or engage in behavior that jeopardizes the safety of other campers or staff will be sent home.The Owls Head Transportation Museum will continue to monitor the COVID situation and may update our safety procedures as needed. Owls Head Transportation Museum Camp PoliciesPARTICIPANT BEHAVIOR:NOTE: The museum will regularly update policies on COVID safety based on recommendations from Maine CDC. Specific details on these policies will be emailed to parents and caregivers as they are updated. All campers must comply with health and safety procedures, or they will not be allowed to participate. If you have concerns or questions about a specific policy, feel free to contact us at mkesterson@ohtm.org • The museum makes the safety and enjoyment of all campers a top priority. • If the safety of staff, campers, or property is at risk, the camper will be removed from class immediately and sent home. • If a behavior issue occurs, educators will redirect campers. • If the behavior continues, campers will be removed from the classroom and parents will be called. Education staff, parent, and camper will work together to problem-solve the situation and create a behavior plan for the camper so s/he can return to camp. • If behavior issues continue, the camper will be removed from class and sent home for the day. • If it is determined that a resolution cannot be met, The museum reserves the right to remove a child from camp. HOSPITALIZATION:I give permission for my child to be transported to the nearest medical facility if emergency medical attention is needed. PHOTOGRAPHS:Registration for camp implies permission to use photographs of students for promotional purposes only. Children will not be identified by name. Please contact us upon registration if there is a conflict. |
