Toby grew up along the Mid-Coast region of Maine in the small coastal village of Tenants Harbor and later in the the town of Thomaston. From an extremely young age, Toby was an extremely active and energetic person that seemed to be interested in just about anything.

As a child, Toby was fascinated by anything relating to his father's business which was deeply connected to the local commercial fishing and trucking industries.

Toby was actively involved in athletics, music, drama, and various other extra curricular activities during his school years. Summer weekends were dedicated to excursions to the Owls Head Transportation Museum which inspired a lifelong interest in technological and social history.

Toby is a graduate of Georges Valley High School and the University of Maine at Farmington. Following college Toby was a long-time Social Studies teacher at Massabesic High School, located in Southern Maine's York County.

In 2013, Toby returned to the Mid-Coast to serve as the Director of the New England Auto Auction™ for the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Toby's other roles include the development of the museum's outdoor special events season—along with a myriad of other behind-the-scenes planning here at OHTM.

Toby promises to bring an energetic, welcoming attitude to all visitors of the museum with the goal of helping OHTM to continue to be an inspiration for future generations.
