Caylie AndersonDepartment: EducationTitle: STEM Camp Educator E-mail: Profile: Caylie is a born and raised Mainer who grew up in the Oxford Hills area. She found her way to the Midcoast through her work in the movie theater industry. She grew up dreaming of working in a movie theater - dying to know what went on behind the scenes that gave the movie going experience its magic. She also grew up wanting to be an educator, but couldn't decide on what subject to teach. Caylie's adventure in Education began with getting her AAS degree at Central Maine Community College. Throughout college she worked at the movie theater she grew up going to, and worked her way up to management. She enjoyed the industry for over 6 years until she decided to switch to a career that had more opportunities for professional and creative development. She worked as a Special Education Ed Tech in a day treatment program until she discovered Owl's Head Transportation Museum - where the opportunities seem to be endless! Education through a museum exhibits (pun intended) the kind of behind the scenes magic she loves. She is very excited to join the Education team this year and apply her love for art in all of the STEAM programming the museum offers. |
