Amelia Spahn

Profile:
Amelia Spahn is the new Social Media & Marketing Assistant at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, Amelia grew up visiting the National Mississippi River Museum on weekends and is no stranger to the water. Drawn by Maine’s beautiful landscape and love for the outdoors, she’s glad to have traded hiking the bluffs along the Mississippi for exploring the trails of Midcoast Maine.

Amelia relocated to Maine after graduating from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a B.A. in Ancient Civilizations, a minor in Anthropology, and a Museum Studies Certificate. Museums, social media, and graphic design have been longtime passions of hers, and beginning her museum career with the Owls Head Transportation Museum is an exciting adventure.

In her free time, Amelia enjoys alpine skiing and racing, participating in local community theater, hiking, reading and creative writing, and filling countless sketchbooks with watercolor and graphite artwork.
