Learn & Play at Owls Head Transportation Museum! Your child will love to take part in Owls Head Transportation Museum's Owl's Nest. From hands-on learning experiences focusing on the science to discovering the history of how people and things move through the world, our programs use over 150 years of transportation history to help students develop critical thinking skills and to make real-world connections from the past to the present and future.

Alphabet Soup Sensory Bin September 24th & September 26th 10:30am - 11:30am
Owlets are encouraged to put their chefs hats on while they mix up a concoction of letters from the alphabet soup sensory bin! Scoop, pour, mix, and play with the ingredients, as well as completing letter and color association challenges. Color Theory for Beginners October 1st & October 3rd
This week in Owls Nest, your owlet will begin to explore the basics of color theory! They will make the magic happen by mixing primary colors together, forming an understanding of how all colors relate to each other. Pom Pom Math Game
Your owlet will play an educational game that applies shapes, colors, and numbers! The game can be adjusted based on each child’s skill level. Drive and Park Color Sort 10:30am - 11:30am
Does your owlet love playing with cars? This week in Owls Nest, owlets will learn color sorting by driving an assortment of cars and parking them in each color parking spot!
No Owls Nest the week of Night at the Museum (10/22 & 10/24)
Pumpkin Science 10:30am - 11:30am
Take out your magnifying glasses, your little explorer will “dissect” and identify the parts of a pumpkin! A surprise craft will be available for each child to take home. Weather Sensory Bin November 7th No Owls Nest Wed. Nov 5 10:30am - 11:30am
Your owlet will learn different components of weather through sensory play and matching, and stir up a storm with weather ingredients! Cloud Count 10:30am - 11:30am
Let’s play a counting game! Owlets will identify numbers 1-5 and place raindrops under each numbered cloud. Feed the Turkey Game 10:30am - 11:30am
Owlets will love this turkey themed math game! They will roll the dice to determine how much to feed their turkey. No Owls Nest the week of Thanksgiving (11/26 & 11/28)
Magic Milk 10:30am - 11:30am
Discover the chemical reaction between milk and dish soap by creating some magic milk! Your owlet will love learning about this colorful and engaging science experiment! Magnetic Race Track 10:30am - 11:30am
Ready, set, magnets! Owlets will discover the power of magnets as they guide their race cars through a magnetic race track. Holiday Science 10:30am - 11:30am
Owlets are invited to enjoy classic science experiments, with a wintery holiday twist!
